Mar 6, 2005 Season starts with a Bang

The duo of Matt Weyan and Justin Mayfield scorched the Windy Two man Time Trial to take the squads first win of the 2005 season on a windy day in southeast Boise. 
 
Matt and Justin finished with a new record time of 1:03:12 and more then 2 minutes clear of second place.  
 
"Justin pulled through at the right time and really helped out, as it gave me a chance to recover." Matt said afterwards.  Matt known for his TT strength was quick to compliment Justin's fine performance.  "Matt is going to win TT Nationals if he continue's to ride like this" Justin said afterwards. 
 
The US TT Nationals are one of Matt's big objectives this year, and this win is a sure confidence booster to start the season.  Congratulations to Matt and Justin!


Feb 28, 2005 Team set for 2005

Team Orbea is looking set and ready for the 2005 ahead.  The team has set new standards this winter in team meetings, team rides, and getting together just to have fun.  This has really shown on the bike as well as the team finished another weekend of team training rides, the squad seems to really be having the right chemistry as the racing season is rapidly approaching. 
 
The team looks fit and focused ready for the season ahead.

Team Orbea announced today their full roster for the upcoming 2005 season.  Returning to the squad are Team Captain Tad Hamilton, Justin Mayfield, Chris Abbruzzese, Steve Parker, Matt Weyen, Esteban Jukich, Gonzalo TagliabueJason Werst and Jonathan Dennison will round out the roster for 2005. 

Details, pics and bios on our newest team members coming soon.  The team will still be lead by Manager/Director Gary Casella.

Jan 5, 2005 - Sponsors continue with squad for 2005

As the Orbea squad prepares for its 2005 season some of its long time sponsors have announced their continued support for the upcoming season.  Kenda tires will continue be the official tires and tubes for the team for its third season.  CarbBoom has renewed its sponsorship as the squads official energy Gel also for its third year with the team.  Orbea the team's longest sponsor starts its fourth year supporting the squad, in which the team will ride the new Orbea Onix all carbon frames in 2005.  Nutra Fig Cheetah Bars will be the official team energy bar for 2005.

June 20 - iomega-Orbea gets Dirty

This past weekend iomega-Orbea riders took to the dirt to compete in the NORBA Knobby Tire series and the Wild Rockies MTB events. Tad Hamilton took 3rd in the Pro class on Sunday. Steve Parker also took 2nd on Saturday.


June 2 - Matt Weyen gets Olympic Selection race invitation!

Matt Weyen due to his fine performance at the Ecology Center Classic last weekend which placed him among the top 150 riders in the USA, received an invitation to Redlands, California to participate in the Olympic Selection events.  The invitation only event also had the names of riders like 5 time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, and current US Pro Champion and 2004 Giro de Italia stage winner Fred Rodriguez.  
 
CONGRATULATIONS MATT on this terrific accomplishment!
